Copy the templates into a product repo. Do not invent a second progress file.

Sources of truth

PROGRESS.md is not used. status/*-DONE.md without SHA is a note, not done.

Verify

python3 scripts/check_kit.py

check_done.py fails unless the DONE file has a git SHA, a verify command, and a result line.
