About The Project

Electronic Automotive Market is a modern, sleek application built with Electron that serves as a mock automotive marketplace. It is designed as a placeholder to showcase a curated selection of cars from various body types, including some of my personal favorites.

Key Features:

  • Accurate Vehicle Information: Every car listing includes comprehensive details. Prices have been set based on the average retail price for the cars available.
  • Detailed View: Click on any car to open a dedicated window with expanded information.
  • Sleek, Minimalistic Design: Enjoy a clean and intuitive interface that prioritizes user experience and ease of use.

Getting Started

Interested in exploring the application firsthand? Follow these simple steps to get started:

Installation (RELEASES TBD)

  1. Download: Head over to the Releases page and download the latest version.
  2. Extract: Unzip the downloaded folder to your preferred location.
  3. Run Setup: Launch setup.exe and follow the installation prompts.
  4. Installation: Click Install when prompted.

Once installed, the application will automatically launch, providing you with an engaging interface that showcases a variety of cars along with their hardware statistics. If you encounter an "Unknown Publisher" warning, rest assured it is due to the software not being signed—a common situation with unsigned applications.

Usage

Electronic Automotive Market simulates an international (fictional) automotive marketplace with the following functionalities:

  • Account Creation: Easily register for an account to chatting with sellers and other buyers.
  • Status-Based Access: Choose between customer and seller accounts. Sellers can further indicate whether they are private individuals or commercial dealers, but will need to provide verification for validity of sale.
  • Posting and Communication: Sellers can create listings for available cars, and both buyers and sellers can engage in private chats to communicate seamlessly.

This design ensures a user-friendly experience while maintaining a professional look and feel.

Roadmap

We have an exciting roadmap planned for future updates:

  • Complete README documentation
  • Release management and updates
  • Implement seller posting feature:
    • 'Made By'
    • Present on mouse over username, click-to-chat feature
    • Listed seller type (commerical / private)
  • Integrate a verification system for sellers

Your feedback and suggestions are always welcome as we continue to evolve this project.
