ansible-lxd-inventory — a flexible Ansible dynamic inventory script for LXD, supporting multiple endpoints, advanced filtering and hostname customization

A dynamic inventory that collapsed 20+ static inventory files down to one, across multiple LXD clusters and projects. Works with Incus too.

Create a VM/LXC and you can run your playbooks.

Homelab

My own selfhosted private micro Cloud, based on four Dell OptiPlex 7010 Micro nodes. Running LXD together with Ceph, ZFS and OVN. 192GiB memory gives plenty of room for breaking things on purpose. Everything infra-as-code.

Homeprod

Alongside my lab, a custom-built 10" NAS running Ubuntu 26.04 virtualizes my home production with LXD and OVN: Home Assistant OS, a central reverse proxy, Authentik for SSO, OpenBao for secrets, AdGuard, Jellyfin, WireGuard, self-hosted GitHub Actions runners, Discord bots, and a few game servers.
