CTO (Field), Gravitee | Ex-Head of Data, Integration and AI, RNLI | Agent Management & MCP | Volunteer Lifeboat Crew

I'm CTO (Field) at Gravitee, advising C-suites on AI strategy and agent governance across financial services, manufacturing and professional sport. I spent nine years at the RNLI, finishing as Head of Data, Integration and AI, running an 85-person department. I hold a PhD in coastal science, won NextCIO 2024, and volunteer as lifeboat crew at Poole Lifeboat Station.

• Design agent identity and authorisation patterns: SPIFFE workload identity, AuthZEN, short-lived token exchange, fine-grained authz over MCP tool calls.
• Architect LLM proxy setups: model routing, failover, guardrails, semantic caching.
• Build migration tooling that converts MuleSoft and Apigee estates to Gravitee, diffing every MuleSoft transform against Anypoint's own CLI. The Apigee equivalent is still being built.
• Write Claude Code skills that answer from checked sources, not model memory.

• At AGNTCon/MCPCon Europe, Amsterdam, 17-18 September 2026, running demos on the Gravitee booth.
• Extending the MuleSoft and Apigee migration tooling to cover more of each platform's policy surface.
• Running Gravitee for Good, the charity access programme I built the business case for and pitched to the CEO.
• Shipped interconnect-mcp in August 2026, an MCP server so agents can read and cite my writing directly.
