Lua Scripts are not compatible with Radiomasters TX16 MK3 screen resolution #1159
Some Lua scripts are crashing because of the higher display resolution.
"if LCD_W == 480 then"
doesn't match
" if LCD_W >= 480 then"
helps but some scripts still produce unreadable displays.
The script should default to the B&W interface and the screen should draw 128x64 without a problem although it might be small. I don't remember any lua code that is B&W specific, what script crashes?
The new Radiomaster TX16 MK3 has a screen resolution of 800x480 (MK2 was 480x272).
Many Scripts ask for "if LCD_W == 480 then" and the higher resolution of the MK3 results in crashing the script.
Can confirm the crashes, at least with the Graupner HoTT luas. This includes the Graupner HoTT Model Locator, which really doesn't have much of a visual issue, it just crashes the Telemetry or simply doesn't find it at all. Possibly something else. As well, many of the other luas that I have loaded that go with the Multi-Module are crashing due to the resolution.
The crash error is titled Script Syntax Error and the body message is ?:0: attempt to call a nil value 9field 'drawScreenTitle'). This also kills the Telemetry, and the RF Link from the Transmitter, requiring a reboot of both the Tx and Rx to regain Link.
I have the Radiomaster TX16S MK3 and the RM 4in1 Module. I just started using this, and the EdgeTX is all new to me. I did manage to update the Module using flash-multi to the most recent version, 1.3.4.31. My new Module was 5 versions behind. The Transmitter is on the Pre-2.12.0-RM-Build (9249f985).
ANY help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I'm going to update this issue. I think this issue affects all TX16S MK3s with the Multi scripts.
The MultiChannelsUpdater.lua script throws a similar error: '?:0: attempt to call a nil value (field "drawScreenTitle")'.
I'm going to open this in VS Code and experiment with it. I'm not good at Lua, so if anyone would like to help me with remote debugging, I'm available for a Discord call/VS Code share.
Edit: Hopefully I addressed these issues with this PR: #1186
I won't close out this issue, until someone with an appropriate RX can test.
