Manually indexing pages

After adding all posts, I'm trying to selectively index certain pages. I am wondering if I should follow the .xml syntax specified here: http://wiki.apache.org/solr/UpdateXmlMessages#add.2BAC8-replace_documents but I'm confused as to which fields I should insert data on. Any help would be greatly appreciated -Alex

Additionally, I would like to rank certain pages higher but based on the .xml syntax, this seems applicable once I can manually index a page.

Selecting specific pages to indexed is not supported, you could however exclude all page id's except for the ones you wanted indexed using the "Excludes Posts or Pages" options. Boosting of certain pages is also not supported at this time. We would love a pull request if you decide to implement it.
