Unable to install app dependencies

Hey there.

I know this repo is not under active development, but i was wondering if anyone can light me up with this.
npm install fails with this output:

This is not the complete log of the operation, but it seems it may be related with the react version.
Any suggestion?

I really really need to use this template on a webpack react app.

I know this is an old issue, but I also had the same problems. For me it was because I had Python 3.7 installed instead of 2.7 so node-gyp was failing.
Once I solved that problem, this project also uses fsevents which only works on MacOSX.
From there node-sass also fails to build and needs to be updated.

These are the work around steps I performed to get it running on my Windows 10 x64 machine:

1. Open a PowerShell terminal as an Administrator
2. Enter the command npm install --global --production windows-build-tools Wait for it to install Windows build tools and Python2.7
3. Update the package.json file to use a supported version of node-sass I went with "node-sass": "^4.5.3", for now
4. Navigate to your working directory for the app (where you cloned it) for example cd C:\Projects\react-webpack-skeleton
5. Make sure to delete the node_modules folder and package-lock.json
6. npm install --python=C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\.windows-build-tools\python27\python.exe --no-optional This will force npm to use Python 2.7 and tell it to skip the optional module fsevents
7. npm audit fix to fix any vulnerabilities found
8. Run the app using node dev-server.js - This will say "Listening at http://localhost:undefined"
9. To figure out what port it is listening on, open any cmd or powershell terminal and use netstat -an then look for a line LISTENING on 127.0.0.1. For me it was always in the 56XXX e.g. TCP 127.0.0.1:56807 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING
10. Browse to the site on the port from 9..
