Jason Noble

I build integration layers that survive contact with someone else's system.

Backend engineer, 19 years in Ruby on Rails. I work the seams between systems — partner APIs, OAuth architecture, and embedded cross-company integrations — where the genuinely hard problems live.

The hard part of backend work is rarely the code — it's the partner API that returns 200 OK on a failure.

A few things worth knowing

  • Top-100 all-time contributor to Ruby on Rails (#97) — 107 merged commits across the Rails 2→3 transition. I rewrote the Migrations guide, overhauled the Getting Started guide, and shipped rake notes. See the commits →
  • Architected the embedded Clover ↔ Homebase integration — Homebase Timesheets running inside Clover's Web dashboard, on time-bounded OAuth 2.0 with strict per-company data isolation.
  • Shipped production AI developer tooling at Homebase (PR-review prep, standup digests, meeting → action items). Internal IP — happy to talk architecture, can't share source.
  • Based in Denver, CO.
