Closes #31

Adds docs/research/xp/agentic-development-in-xp-comprehensive-research.md and the trusted-source list it was checked against, .nwave/trusted-source-domains.yaml.

Answer in short: coding agents fit inside XP's feedback loops; they don't replace any XP practice.

  • TDD becomes the agent's specification and guardrail. People own the failing test, and agent edits to tests get reviewed.
  • An agent is not a pair. A human pair or ensemble navigates while the agent drives.
  • CI and small batches matter more than before. DORA 2025 links AI adoption to both higher throughput and higher instability.
  • Shared understanding and skill formation are the main risks.
  • Productivity studies conflict, from 55.8% faster to 19% slower, so measure on your own team.

Part E relates the findings to the XP, BDD and Lean focus areas and their components. It is interpretation only: workspace.dsl, CONTEXT.md and the ADRs are unchanged.

Sources: 69, average reputation 0.86. 55 were read in full, 14 only from abstracts, snippets or video metadata.

Weak spots:

  • Dave Farley's position has only commercial sources.
  • The DORA pages don't expose effect sizes.
  • The GitClear figures are the vendor's own data.
  • No study looks at a whole XP team using agents.

Coding agents fit inside XP's feedback loops rather than replacing any
practice. TDD becomes the agent's specification and guardrail, a human
pair or ensemble navigates while the agent drives, and CI with small
batches keeps the higher throughput from turning into instability.
Shared understanding is the main thing at risk.

The findings are related to the XP, BDD and Lean focus areas as
interpretation only; the model is unchanged. 43 sources, average
reputation 0.87. The trusted-source list the research was checked
against is added under .nwave/.

Adds Part F with findings on the six open gaps. None is fully closed;
each is now partially resolved. Practitioner reports on mob programming
with agents, task-length evidence for sizing agent work, and an
independent study of code quality after agent adoption refine the
existing recommendations without overturning them. The full DORA 2025
report was not readable by the fetch tool, so effect sizes remain
direction-only.

69 sources in total, 26 new, average reputation 0.86.

Trust thoughtworks.com at host level so the Radar sources match their
classification, drop the global three-source minimum that made the lower
confidence thresholds unreachable, disclose the outside-list secondary
DORA 2025 summaries, and correct the verification split to 55 V / 14 P.
