These jobs depend on external warehouses, so hangs are inevitable. With no job-level timeout they inherit the repository-wide 6-hour default, which turns a single stuck connection into hours of occupied runners and delays the signal that something is wrong. 30 minutes is derived from the last month of runs rather than picked: across every marker in this matrix the slowest job was under 17 minutes, and the 99th percentile of the slowest marker was under 16. That leaves roughly 1.8x headroom over the worst observed run while capping a genuinely stuck job at minutes instead of hours. Scoped to marker-tests deliberately. The neighbouring warehouse jobs have different profiles -- redshift routinely finishes in the low twenties of minutes -- so they need their own limits chosen against their own history, not this one applied by analogy.
