I am a PHP, Go and TypeScript developer based in Minneapolis.
I work across the entire stack, but I’m happiest in the backend. Moving data, pushing bytes around, making things fast.
I ❤️ tiny reusable parts with single responsibilities and no side effects. I keep code simple, clear, and easy for anyone to read.
I’ve spent fifteen years in EdTech keeping old systems running and new ones from catching fire. Before that I built industrial and B2B tools where things had to work because people depended on them.
I’ve been deep in Shielded.dev, building bearer-token support for shield management and moving the authenticated dashboard to Preact. The work also includes API-token management, migrations, validation, documentation, and tooling improvements; the merged change adds bearer-token shield updates and a Preact dashboard.
On my own projects, I’ve been experimenting with a Raspberry Pi Pico-based TOTP keyboard in picopass and tightening up Boomerang’s PHP testing and analysis tooling. I’ve also been thinking about keeping software straightforward: AI can accelerate coding, but I still want small, reviewable changes, sensible guardrails, and a clear understanding of what I ship.
I keep coming back to the value of simple data flows, good QA, and tools that preserve human judgment and connection instead of adding complexity or making everything disposable.
