feat(ui): rebuild Advanced Security in SwiftUI - #1312
Third and last screen of the Security / Settings group in the UIKit / Objective-C → SwiftUI migration.
More → Security → Advanced Security (and its onboarding preview) is now a SwiftUI screen with a ViewModel and the DashUIKit NavigationBar. Same layout: security-level header, Auto Logout and Spending Confirmation cards with sliders, Reset to Default. The toggles are DashUIKit MenuItem toggles inside MenuViewModifier cards.
The security-level table, ported 1:1 as WalletSecurityLevel.level(lockTime:spendingLimit:).
Reset to Default writes auto logout on, 1 min, confirmation on, 0.5 Dash.
The screen pops itself when the app resigns active.
A limit change that AuthenticationService refuses (not authenticated) is re-read and shown as not applied.
Structure
AdvancedSecuritySettingsStore:
LiveAdvancedSecuritySettingsStore reads and writes DWGlobalOptions and AuthenticationService;
DemoAdvancedSecuritySettingsStore (onboarding) keeps the recommended values in memory and never touches the wallet's settings. The demo screen is non-interactive.
SegmentSlider replaces the MMSegmentSlider-based cell. It snaps to stops by tap or drag, and is a single adjustable VoiceOver element whose value is spoken ("1 min", "0.5 DASH").
AdvancedSecurityScreenFactory (@objc) hands the demo to the Objective-C onboarding.
DW_DEFAULT_BIOMETRICS_SPENDING_LIMIT is replaced by AdvancedSecurityViewModel.defaultSpendingLimit.
Removed 21 Objective-C files (~2,000 lines): the controller, both models and the protocol, the slider cell, the slider, the status view and xib, the onboarding demo controller and stub.
Noticed, not in this PR: the MMSegmentSlider pod now has no users and can be dropped from the Podfile in a follow-up. DashUIKit's MenuViewModifier applies its shadow to the card's contents too, giving text a faint halo; it's a one-line compositingGroup() fix in DashUIKit.
Replaced the Advanced Security screen with a SwiftUI experience for auto-logout, spending confirmation, security level, and resetting settings to defaults.
Added interactive sliders with VoiceOver support for choosing lock timers and spending limits.
The onboarding preview continues to show the settings screen without allowing changes.
Tests
Added coverage for security-level classifications, settings behavior, reset defaults, and demo settings isolation.
More → Security → Advanced Security (and its onboarding preview) is now
a SwiftUI screen with a ViewModel and the DashUIKit nav bar, replacing
the Objective-C controller, its models, the MMSegmentSlider-based cell,
the status view and the onboarding demo controller and stub.
Same behavior:
- Lock timer stops (Immediately, 1 min, 5 min, 1 hour, 24 hours) and
biometric limit stops (0, 0.1, 0.5, 1, 5 Dash).
- The security-level table (WalletSecurityLevel) and Reset to Default.
- The screen pops itself when the app resigns active.
- A limit change AuthenticationService refuses is shown as not applied.
- AdvancedSecuritySettingsStore: the live store reads/writes
DWGlobalOptions and AuthenticationService; the onboarding demo keeps
the recommended values in memory and never touches the wallet's.
- SegmentSlider: snaps to stops by tap or drag; adjustable in VoiceOver.
- AdvancedSecurityScreenFactory exposes the demo to Objective-C
onboarding; DW_DEFAULT_BIOMETRICS_SPENDING_LIMIT becomes
AdvancedSecurityViewModel.defaultSpendingLimit.
- AdvancedSecurityTests: the level table, slider stops, reset, a refused
limit change, and the demo store's isolation.

The Advanced Security settings move from Objective-C/UIKit to Swift and SwiftUI. The new implementation includes live and demo stores, a view model, a segmented slider, and a security-level classifier. Security-menu navigation and onboarding now use the SwiftUI screen, and tests cover its settings behavior.

Summary
Settings state and classification DashWallet/Sources/UI/Menu/Security/Advanced Security/AdvancedSecuritySettingsStore.swift, DashWallet/Sources/UI/Menu/Security/Advanced Security/AdvancedSecurityViewModel.swift, DashWallet/Sources/UI/Menu/Security/Advanced Security/WalletSecurityLevel.swift, DashWallet/Sources/UI/Menu/Security/Advanced Security/Model/*, DashWallet/Sources/UI/Menu/Security/Advanced Security/Protocol/*, DashWalletTests/AdvancedSecurityTests.swift, DashWallet.xcodeproj/project.pbxproj
The new store and view model read and update security settings, and the classifier maps settings to security levels. The tests cover classification, slider selections, rejected limit changes, reset defaults, and demo-store isolation. The prior Objective-C model and protocol are removed.
The SwiftUI screen displays security level and settings controls, with live and noninteractive demo configurations. The legacy UIKit screen, status view, slider components, and demo controller are removed.
Security-menu navigation and onboarding now use the SwiftUI hosting controller. The biometric-enablement path uses the view model’s default spending limit. The project adds the Swift files and tests and removes legacy target references and bridging-header imports.
dashpay/dashwallet-ios#1246 — The issue reports inconsistent security levels for an unset spending limit and reset behavior. This change adds classification and reset tests for those cases.

The screen is mergeable with bounded UI follow-up, but the onboarding preview can be dismissed unexpectedly, and some spending-limit controls and messages need correction.

Disable the demo back button with the preview controls.
When onboarding shows the demo, this modifier disables only the scroll view. The navigation bar still accepts taps. Tapping Back pops the security preview while onboarding remains on page 2, so the preview does not return until the user changes pages. Apply the hit-testing rule to the whole screen, or omit the back button in demo mode. The previous demo disabled interaction on its entire view. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Show an explicit state when the spending limit is unset.
If spending confirmation and biometrics are enabled but spendingLimitAmount is nil, this guard returns “You can authenticate with Face ID for payments below” without an amount. The new tests establish that an unset stored limit is a supported state. Show a complete “limit not set” message instead of the incomplete payment rule. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Extend the gesture region to the last stop.
The track is geometry.size.width - 30 points wide, but its offset places the last stop 15 points beyond that width. contentShape(Rectangle()) therefore excludes the center of the last tick and thumb from the gesture region. Give the ZStack the full geometry width before applying contentShape; keep the shorter track inside it. SwiftUI offsets do not change a view’s layout dimensions. (developer.apple.com)

Handle an unset selection explicitly for VoiceOver.
When selectedIndex is nil, VoiceOver announces an empty value. A decrement does nothing because current becomes zero; an increment selects stop one rather than stop zero. This state occurs for an unset spending limit. Announce “Not set” and let the first adjustment select the appropriate stop. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Preliminary review — Phase 1 blocker gate
Verified the four Codex findings against head d1f5ee9. The current DashWalletTests on simulator check fails while compiling the new hosting controller; the unset-limit description, slider hit region, and unset VoiceOver adjustment also need corrections. Validation was static, with the compilation failure independently confirmed from the GitHub Actions log.
Validated blockers were found by the Phase-1 review and confirmed by a fresh verifier. Phase 2 is deferred until a fresh same-head revalidation clears the blocker gate.
Triage: normal by gpt-6.1-sol (effort low) — This substantial UI and settings migration warrants ordinary review but does not itself change funds movement, cryptography, key handling, consensus, network deserialization, or storage migrations.
Phase 2 reviewers: not run (deferred by blocker gate)

- [BLOCKING] DashWallet/Sources/UI/Menu/Security/Advanced Security/AdvancedSecurityScreen.swift:249-251: Test build fails on MainActor.assumeIsolated type inference
The current DashWalletTests on simulator check fails in the dashpay target at line 249 with “conflicting arguments to generic parameter 'T' ('Void' vs. 'UIViewController?' vs. 'UIResponder?')”. The single-expression assumeIsolated closure returns the optional result of popViewController rather than explicitly discarding it. This prevents the app host from compiling for tests. Discard the pop result so the closure returns Void.

- [SUGGESTION] DashWallet/Sources/UI/Menu/Security/Advanced Security/AdvancedSecurityViewModel.swift:137-149: Unset spending limit renders an unfinished sentence
When spending confirmation and biometrics are enabled but the stored limit is spendingLimitNotSet, storedLimit becomes nil. The zero-limit branch is not taken, so spendingLimitDescription returns the sentence ending in “payments below”, while descriptionShowsAmount is false and the screen appends no amount. The new unset-limit test explicitly supports this state. Handle nil with a complete localized description before choosing the amount-bearing prefix.
In `DashWallet/Sources/UI/Menu/Security/Advanced Security/SegmentSlider.swift`:
- [SUGGESTION] DashWallet/Sources/UI/Menu/Security/Advanced Security/SegmentSlider.swift:76-77: Slider hit region excludes the last stop
The track determines the ZStack's layout width as geometry.size.width minus 30 points. Its 15-point offset moves the final tick center to geometry.size.width minus 15 points, but offsets do not enlarge layout bounds. The rectangular content shape therefore ends 15 points before the final stop's center, so tapping that stop misses the gesture region even though dragging from inside can reach it. Expand the ZStack to the full geometry width before applying contentShape, while retaining the shorter inset track.
- [SUGGESTION] DashWallet/Sources/UI/Menu/Security/Advanced Security/SegmentSlider.swift:89-100: VoiceOver on unset selection announces empty and skips stop 0
An unset spending limit produces selectedIndex == nil, which gives this adjustable element an empty accessibility value. The adjustment handler then treats nil as an already-selected zero: the first increment selects stop 1 and the first decrement does nothing. Stop 0 is the immediately-lock/always-require-PIN choice, so the initial accessibility interaction skips the most restrictive setting despite no setting being selected. Announce an explicit localized unset value and handle the first adjustment separately from adjustments to an existing selection.

Fixed in 4614100: the pop result is discarded, so the assumeIsolated closure is Void. It type-checked on my local toolchain, so CI is the real check here.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Resolved (re-reviewed at 46141000): Your explicit discard removes the optional return value from the assumeIsolated closure and addresses the reported inference conflict. The current-head simulator check is still pending, so successful test compilation is not yet independently confirmed.

🟡 Suggestion: Unset spending limit renders an unfinished sentence
When spending confirmation and biometrics are enabled but the stored limit is spendingLimitNotSet, storedLimit becomes nil. The zero-limit branch is not taken, so spendingLimitDescription returns the sentence ending in “payments below”, while descriptionShowsAmount is false and the screen appends no amount. The new unset-limit test explicitly supports this state. Handle nil with a complete localized description before choosing the amount-bearing prefix.

Fixed in 4614100. With no limit stored there is no biometric allowance either (canUseBiometricAuthentication returns false without one), so every payment asks for the PIN. The description now reads "PIN is always required to make a payment", the same as a zero limit. Covered by testUnsetLimitReadsAsAlwaysRequiringPIN.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Resolved (re-reviewed at 46141000): Your nil-limit branch now returns the complete PIN-required sentence and suppresses the appended amount. The added testUnsetLimitReadsAsAlwaysRequiringPIN explicitly checks both behaviors.

🟡 Suggestion: VoiceOver on unset selection announces empty and skips stop 0
An unset spending limit produces selectedIndex == nil, which gives this adjustable element an empty accessibility value. Fixed in 4614100. With no stop selected, VoiceOver reads the stored value instead of an empty one: "None" for an unset limit, or the actual interval for an off-stop lock timer. The first adjustment in either direction selects stop 0, and later ones step from there.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Resolved (re-reviewed at 46141000): Your change supplies stored-value fallback text to both sliders, and the nil-selection branch selects stop 0 before returning for either adjustment direction. Subsequent adjustments correctly step from the selected index.
- Discard the pop result inside MainActor.assumeIsolated so the closure
is Void (failed to type-check on CI's toolchain).
- An unset biometric limit reads "PIN is always required" instead of an
unfinished sentence: with no limit there is no biometric allowance.
- The slider's hit area spans its full width, so the last stop is tappable.
- VoiceOver reads the stored value when it is not a stop ("None" for an
unset limit), and the first adjustment from there selects stop 0.

Re-review — Final validation — Phase 1 + Phase 2
At head 4614100, all four prior findings are fixed in source. Two issues remain: the newly adopted security switches lack spoken setting names, and an off-stop lock interval displays a blank visual value. This was a static verification; current-head target-membership and accessibility audits pass, while simulator tests remain pending.

- [BLOCKING] DashWallet/Sources/UI/Menu/Security/Advanced Security/AdvancedSecurityScreen.swift:64-68: Associate each security toggle with its spoken setting name

Consequently, VoiceOver users navigating by controls encounter unnamed switches and cannot distinguish which security setting they will change. Fix the association in DashUIKit's MenuItem toggle branch by applying the row title as SwitchView's accessibility label, then consume that dependency revision here so both newly added controls are covered.

The ViewModel explicitly supports this state, and testOffStopLockTimerKeepsItsValueText exercises a stored 120-second interval. Render lockTimerValueText here as well; it already formats both standard stops and off-stop values.
