Assembly View - Batch Mode

Overview

Enable batch operations on the assembly view/editor for mass actions across multiple job operations. This is distinct from job operation batching (which groups operations for shared machine runs) — batch mode here refers to bulk editing in the UI for efficiency.

User Story

As a production planner, I want to select multiple operations in the assembly view and apply actions to all of them at once, so that I can efficiently manage large assemblies (>40 steps) without clicking through each step individually.

Proposed Features

1. Multi-select in Operation List

• Shift-click to select range, Cmd/Ctrl-click to select individual operations
• Selected operations show visual indicator (border highlight, checkmark)
• Selection count shown in header: "5 operations selected"

2. Batch Actions Toolbar

When 2+ operations are selected, show floating toolbar with:

• Bulk assign tool — search/select a tool to attach to all selected steps
• Bulk move — drag to reorder (insert at new position, preserving relative order)
• Bulk delete — remove selected operations (with confirmation)
• Bulk properties — set common estimated time, method, notes

3. Batch Property Editor

Modal with tabs:

• Tools: Add/remove tool assignments
• Notes: Add note to all (classification: info/warning/caution)
• Media: Attach media to multiple steps
• Time estimates: Set estimated duration for all

4. Smart Select

• "Select all operations using [tool]" — context menu from tool chip
• "Select all incomplete operations" — filter + select
• "Select operations 5-15" — range dialog

Acceptance Criteria

1. Shift-click selects all operations between first click and current
2. Cmd/Ctrl-click toggles individual selection
3. Batch toolbar appears when 2+ operations selected
4. Bulk assign tool applies to all selected operations
5. Bulk delete removes selected operations and reorders sequence
6. Selection persists across view mode changes (list/tree)
7. Keyboard shortcut: Cmd/Ctrl+A to select all visible operations

• Job operation batching (separate feature, see Work Order Stitching — combine shared preparation across concurrent production orders #1010)

• Batch planning board (separate UI for job operation batching)
