Note: This release contains multiple new features and improvements (SemVer Minor bump from 0.7.4 to 0.8.0). No breaking changes.

Release preparation: The lint fix from #1449 and the Vitest 5 development dependency updates from #1442 and #1441 are included in release/0.8.0. TypeScript 7 (#1362) remains open pending toolchain compatibility review and is not included. Test and Release CI passes on release head d0bff73d94713cd2da4421d88bc7ec99c7ecdb3e (check-and-lint plus nine adapter-test jobs). PR #1448 remains open for its separate merge approval.
