Data & Intelligence Analyst at Westminster City Council, modelling and visualising crime, children's services and population data to inform statutory decisions and financial planning.
I came to analytics from environmental science, via ESG consultancy at Onnu and solutions engineering at Deepki, and I'm completing an MSc in Data & Analytics alongside the role. I hold ONS Secure Researcher accreditation. I'm at my best turning technical work into something the people who have to act on it can actually use - service leads, councillors, residents.
🔭 Currently working in Python, R, SQL and DAX.

Drivers of health inequality - LASSO regression on ward-level life expectancy, using regularisation to select from a large set of correlated Marmot indicators where a standard model would overfit. Run separately across male, female and overall to avoid averaging away differing drivers as part of the Common Progress Measures project (CPM). CPM Dashboard
UK local authority nearest-neighbour benchmarking - clustering every local authority across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland on children's services demand indicators. The interesting problem was less the clustering than reconciling four national statistical frameworks with different definitions, geographies and publication cycles. Clustering Tool Dashboard
Cumulative Impact of Licensed Premises - hotspot analysis combining crime, noise, antisocial behaviour, footfall and licensed premises density, feeding a statutory assessment. Nominated for a Local Government Association award.
ArcGIS web applications for community hubs and heat networks, built so non-technical service teams can self-serve spatial data.
Children's demographics explorer - Streamlit app for exploring child population decline and demand projections.
Power BI dashboards using DAX and dynamic narrative text, one example dashboard: suitability assessment for solar PV across the council's housing stock.

Most of what I do sits with sensitive data - individual-level records, statutory analysis, and outputs that affect real decisions about real people. A genuine part of holding ONS Secure Researcher accreditation is knowing when not to publish something: suppressing findings where counts are too small to be disclosed safely, even when they're interesting.

Studying regularisation and model interpretability properly, and looking at where machine learning meets sustainability reporting - the two threads I've been pulling on since I graduated.
