Describe the bug
This has been going on for a long time in GNS3 3.0.x. I'm currently on GNS3 GUI and Server 3.0.6. What happens is that, randomly, the GNS3 GUI will disconnect from the GNS3 server. No error message or anything, just poof. Each time I have to go into my settings to manually reconnect it and - open reconnecting - I have to reload the topology and see all my nodes powered down.
I have no clue as to what triggers this. My GUI is running on Windows 11 and the GNS3 VM is running on the same computer through VMWare Workstation. I have given it 12 vCPUs and 42GB of RAM - RAM utilization in my lab currently is sitting at around 72%, but this has happened even in smaller labs as well.
To Reproduce
I have no clue what the reproduction steps are. It seems to be just open a lab, start the nodes, and let it run for a while.
Other commonalities I can think of:
- All my labs have Cisco IOU/IOL devices.
- My labs usually have FortiGates.
- I have bridges & taps in my lab that I create through a linux bash script whenever I start the GNS3 VM. I use these because it prevents a rats nest of cables.
