I have an Ubuntu VM that I created on VMware Workstation that I wanted to use a a "golden" image for linked VMs in GNS3. I went ahead and created a QEMU VM template for it in the GNS3 GUI, using the VM's .vmdk file as HDD1. I am able to add it successfully to the topology, but whenever I do so, it takes 30-40 seconds before the VM actually shows up, during which time, I cannot add anything else. Deleting the VM also takes a long time, and sometimes causes the GNS3 GUI to crash. I'm not sure why this is happening. I tried manually converting the vmdk to a qcow2 and adding it again... but that did not help.
For reference, the disk is around 16GB in size. Not sure if that is the problem?
Versions are GNS3 GUI 3.0.6 and GNS3 VM 3.0.6
