Crash when importing/saving a NONG with non-Latin Unicode characters in the filename #179

Description

@ThisRedstoneMan

The game crashes when importing a NONG whose filename contains non-Latin Unicode characters. The crash log shows:

std::system_error:
"No mapping for the Unicode character exists in the target multi-byte code page."

which suggests the filename is being converted to a non-Unicode Windows code page.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to the Jukebox NONG selection
  2. Click on the '+' at the bottom right
  3. Under the 'Local' tab, click on the folder icon and select the file (see linked file)
  4. See error

Expected behavior
The game should not crash when importing files with Unicode characters in their filename. It should properly support Unicode filenames or at least load the song while flitering the metadata out

Specs used

  • OS: Windows 11
  • Geometry Dash version : 2.2081
  • Jukebox version v3.6.2
  • Geode version : v5.7.1

Additional testing:

I renamed the attached file from

【ゼンゼロ】モエチャッカファイア エレン・ジョー(CV:若山詩音)cover.mp3

to

song.mp3

and was able to import/save the NONG without any issues which confirms that the filename is the culprit.

【ゼンゼロ】モエチャッカファイア エレン・ジョー(CV:若山詩音)cover.mp3
