Had to reinstall Awtrix on Ulanzi. Getting errors/unable to connect to my WiFi

I had to do a fresh start and reinstall Awtrix 3 0.98 on my Ulanzi pixel clock. I connected it and reflashed it. I get to the point where I connect to its captive portal successfully, and no matter what I’ve tried I cannot get it to accept my home Wi-Fi SS ID and password.

For reference, I did switch to a Ubiquiti dream router system a couple of months back. I’ve tried everything creating a 2.4 GHz dedicated SSID making sure the radio channels are appropriate making sure PMF is disabled. Making sure I didn’t have any VPN running. You name it.

It just stays with the “AP Mode” display and I always get an error when I go to the local IP or the captive portal that says something about the credentials, being bad like the password.

Is there something perhaps I’m missing? I’m not super technical with this stuff, but I have done quite a lot of Internet sleuthing and I’ve come up with nothing that seems to help.

Actually, scratch that above: it was resolved by going into my router and forgetting the off-line entry that was held open from before, thus releasing the IP.

I do still have a main problem, which is why I reinstalled to begin with. It seems that it can’t connect to Home Assistant MQTT and I’m getting a flashing green light on the bottom left of my screen. I’ve googled around, but I can’t seem to find how to troubleshoot the fact that it can’t connect MQTT broker in HA.

Anyone have any suggestion, suggestions or ideas?

What updates do you need when thousands of users are happy? I don't think software can be measured by its updates.
But to make you happy: beta was released this year and v1.0 is still in development too :)

Same network. The Awtrix ip is 192.168.1.160.
MQTT just can’t seem to see it in Home Assistant even with correct credentials I put in the Awtrix portal.
The Ulanzi clock just constantly flashes a yellow/green pixel on the bottom left corner, indicating it can’t connect.

I’m not entirely sure when the issue started, but the only thing I can think of that changed on my network is that a couple of months ago I switched to a Unifi WiFi system (Dream Router, etc) but I kept everything basically the same in terms of my SSID, etc…

Apologies! I saw the over 100 issues combined with no updates for a year and just got my Awtrix clock out for the first time in over a year last night. I made an assumption and should not have. Glad you're still here :)

No worries, Issues doesn't mean bugs at all.
Most bugs are fixed fixed in v1.0, releasing in next couple of weeks.
