Garry's Mod works when connecting to an external server on the x86-64 beta. Haven't been able to connect successfully on the stable (32-bit) version, it crashes during the loading screen.
You cannot host your own servers, as the game crashes when you do. You can however get past this issue by hosting a server with the Garry's mod dedicated server software.
The main menu, along with some spawn menus are broken on the x86-64 beta as the HTML renderer doesn't work properly. In order to connect to a server, you'll have to enter into the console:
