Dynamic zoom level on "Map" view

Feature request: when opening the iOS app, the "Map" seems to appear with a static zoom level, showing large parts of Europe. In order of preference, it would be nice if:

• The zoom level adjusted automatically to the most zoomed in level that still contains all "users"
• If this is difficult to implement, a user setting for hard-coding the zoom level

We had implemented your suggestion in the early days of the app. It does not work well when you have users far way from each other.

We may think about remembering the last zoomlevel/map-center …

Indeed auto-zoom wasn't a good experience as I recall it.

The idea of remembering last zoom level is good and would likely work well for those who have friends "close" (geographically speaking) friends.

Isn't autozoom with a limit an option? Zoom out to fit all friends until zoom level x.

If you want to zoom in on your regions it is not possible anymore also if you want to create new
regions/ geofences you need to do it
by using the coordinates. As before you could place a pin 📍 on the map and create a circle ⭕️ radius around it.

A long-press on a map creates a region which you can modify (e.g. rename , resize) in the Regions tab.

Zooming into a region works by tapping on the region in the regions tab.

I have checked it on my wifes phone and it works there, so I have to reinstall the app probably

it creates a new region in the center of the MAP and Zooming into a region does not work by tapping on the region in the regions tab, this is exactly my problem.

zoom the map to where you want the region created and long tap to add it to the center of the visible map area

tapping on a region in the Regions tab takes me to the region

@chrisboer you probably disabled "map interaction" accidentally. You can change "map interaction" and "reverse geocoding" by tapping on the "map" button

We introduced this option for privacy reasons.

With the next version there will be a marker if map interaction is disabled and the
"noMap" and "noRevgeo" settings will be included in the "status message":

    "noMap": -1,
    "noRevgeo": -1,
...

Thanks Christoph and @jpmens for your comments, I probably blocked it somewhere myself and was not aware of this hidden feature.

Looking forward to the update where it is more visible.

Even though I have learned now how to backup my settings and import them again, so it was still valuable for me this exercise
