I followed the installation guide but it doesn't seem to load the configs at all.

There has been major changes in the NvChad repo. Currently you can just check out my NixOS Config's vimacs dir. here

I was having the same issue but someone has forked this with a script for the nvchad update at https://github.com/yashasolutions/vimacs and it worked for me using arch linux, feel free to give a try all credit goes to whoever runs that repo im just the messenger
