OpenWave's mission is to build a platform where multiple candidate field-theoretic models are evaluated numerically, side by side, in the same computational environment. No single alternative framework can map the space of possibilities on its own: when several independent models are run against the same observables with the same pass/fail criteria, the comparison triangulates what is actually out there.
This makes the platform an open arena for rigorous, side-by-side numerical verification of candidate models, including unconventional ones the mainstream overlooks, all judged on the same falsifiable criteria. Anyone with a model is invited to put it to the test.
This is the structural difference from a single-model theory-of-everything program: a lone framework carries a built-in incentive to sell itself, while an arena referees. OpenWave has no house model and no stake in which column wins; the platform's claims are the per-criterion cells below and the scripts behind them, nothing more, and a column full of honest negatives is a working column.
Features that survive across frameworks are likely load-bearing physics; features that only work in one framework, or only with hand-tuning, reveal themselves as such. A null result in one model is ambiguous (model wrong, or engine wrong?); a positive result in any model certifies the engine for all of them.
Anybody can contribute to building these numerical validations. Every cell in the tables below is backed by a runnable script or a research document in this repository, and every claim is reproducible, refutable, and extendable under Apache 2.0. The clean-clone path from any cell to the command that regenerates it is documented in REPRODUCE.md.

Each icon is earned by the matching row in that model's own table (column headers jump there); the per-model row carries the summary and the evidence links.
The regime column is a property of the criterion, not of any model: what a row demands of whatever attempts it. static = earnable from structure or spectrum alone, dynamic = not, both = the row has both sub-questions, so a model can earn part of it without dynamics.
Magnetism carries no standalone row by design: the magnetic force of currents is a corollary of Electric force + Lorentz covariance (Feynman II-13-6: a boosted Coulomb field IS the magnetic field); magnetostatics with no current (the permanent magnet's static B) is the electron's intrinsic dipole, scored by the Magnetic moment μ row in the electron block.
Each criterion's simplest passing test sits in its own companion table right below (§ Simplest Test per Criterion), keeping this matrix to icons.

The cheapest concrete experiment that would earn each row, so every claim and every 🚧 alike names what would settle it. Like regime, the test is a property of the criterion, not of any model. The priority ordering (which tests are most decisive to run first within each domain) and its provenance live in the platform task record (dev_docs/tasks/t1_task_details.md).

One table per model, column order of the matrix. Each row is the evidence behind that model's icon above: status tag, condensed summary (the 65-word rule), links to the record.
Cell format (the 65-word rule). Every summary cell below is a condensed summary, never a report: a status tag, at most 65 words of prose, then links; detail belongs in the linked record. The count excludes the tag, links and <br>→ tails, so dev_docs/ROADMAP_STANDARDS.md: it permits about a third more, which the wider column earns. Re-measure before moving it: python3 dev_docs/utils/models_cell_stats.py (T3).
Which tables carry a budget. Only the per-model ones.
| Table | Budget |
|---|---|
| Per-model tables in this section | 65 words of prose per summary cell |
| At-a-glance matrix (Summary Status) | none: status icons, and no prose at all, which the linter enforces |
| Simplest test per criterion | none needed: one short clause per row, observed maximum 12 words |
| Score-board | none: counts only, each tallied against the rows |
Each matrix icon must match the status tag of the same criterion in the model's own table. That rule, the score-board tallies, the regime values, the simplest-test table (non-empty per criterion, criteria-synced with the matrix), every row's column count, and every criteria count or column tally stated in a live doc elsewhere in the repository are linted by dev_docs/utils/check_models_md.py, which a maintainer runs before merging anything that touches this file or restates its counts (dev_docs/PR_REVIEW_STANDARDS.md § 7.1).

| PARTICLE - ELECTRON | |
| Charge quantization | ✅ [validated in-platform] Topological winding number of the hedgehog defect (Gauss-Bonnet integer Q = ±1) m5_1_winding.py |
| Electron rest energy (mass) | ✅ [validated in-platform] Hedgehog rest energy with Faber core regularization; mass pinned E ∝ 1/r₀, physical knob r₀ = 2.2132 fm → 0.511 MeV m5_6_3b_faber_on_M.py |
| de Broglie clock (Zitterbewegung) | ✅ [validated in-platform] Bounded, self-starting, frequency-rigid 3+1D time crystal, the energy-minimizing state (≈ 21% below clock-stopped). Rigidity MEASURED under drive: a background scalar in the spectrum cannot entrain the clock, eigenvalues track exactly, eigenframe torque zero (M5.27 structural null). Absolute scale ✅: geo-mean calibration recovers each lepton's ZBW to ~13% m5_9_lepton_mass_clock_findings.md, m5_27_note.md, m5_8_2u_clock_energy_minimum.py, m5_8_2z_length_anchor.py→ open work: M5.10 · calibration #208 / #217 / #218 / #220 ✅ |
| Particle stability (Derrick escape) | ✅ [validated in-platform] Escape via time-periodic resonance: static solitons confirmed impossible (M5.2 negative), the saturated breather self-starts from exact rest and holds resolution-robustly (24³ → 48³); the verified-L electron persists in free dynamics at N = 64 (absorbed 4.4%, M5.21.10) m5_8_2g_spontaneity.py, m5_21_10_note.md |
| Magnetic moment μ (g ≈ 2, magnetostatics) | ❌ [honest negative, RE-BASED at verified-L 2026-07-21] The μ channel exists (envelope-localized, radially converged; the dipole rides the clock's Γ_0, pure twist EM-silent) but the observable is a parity-cancellation residue tracking preparation basin across 4 orders. Under the first-principles bridge derived from the Coulomb anchor (no free factor) g spans 8.5e-4 to 1.45: no closure at 2.0023, the canonical 1.97 retro-flagged m5_21_5_note.md, m5_8_2r_electron_id.py, m5_question_tracker.md § FORCES→ closure route: μ on the long-evolution texture + the Larmor read, m5_23_1_task_details.md |
| Angular momentum J (spin ℏ/2) | The fixed-J isorotation electron exists and HOLDS at three J rungs, clock thermodynamics exact (dE/dJ = ω* at ~1%), now ported to the production engines (M5.23.1, selftests green). J is constraint-carried: rigid rotation and free descent both measured out, on both stacks. The ℏ/2 OBSERVABLE half stays open (the Larmor read is instrument-limited) m5_21_9_note.md, m5_23_1_task_details.md |
| Spin-½ statistics (720° double cover) | ✅ [validated in-platform] The field is apolar (ellipsoids): a π rotation returns M while the frame needs 2π, one frame revolution = two field periods, no belt-trick needed. Machine-exact on the production seed (1e-16), the same factor 2 as G7's ω_M = 2ω_clock. Deeper invariant: biaxial π₁ = Q₈ (NG-9) m5_8_2s_spin_half_apolar.py, Wolfram animations |
| PARTICLE - FULL SPECTRUM | |
| Antimatter + annihilation | ✅ [validated in-platform, 2026-07-21] Full 3D capture-to-annihilation on the verified-L stack (audited twice): charges exactly ±1 at seed, a clean sigmoid to ≤ 0.005 residual, energy ledger physical to 0.1%. Mechanism MEASURED: conduit annihilation through the connecting topological line (ballistic core-walk refuted). Caveat: the endpoint retains seed-inherited line flux m5_21_4_note.md, m5_21_4_a_pair.py; lineage m5_8_2v_pair_annihilation_budget.py, m5_14_sine_gordon_annihilation.py |
| Neutrinos (neutral states) | Charge-0 loop states are the neutrino candidate, and the decay side is measured: kicked heavy-lepton minima release paired symmetric ejecta under damped evolution (real, not numerical); whether the ejecta ARE the loop states awaits the tracer (M5.23.2) m5_21_10_note.md, m5_21_6_note.md |
| Neutrino oscillations (PMNS) | Flavour oscillation = SO(3) spatial field rotation. PMNS from SO(3) (#199 ✅): tri-bimaximal + δ_CP = 180° parameter-free (θ₁₂ 35.26° vs NuFIT 33.7°, δ_CP ≈ 177°); θ₁₃ ≈ 8.5° = the SO(3)-breaking. FALSIFIER: δ_CP far from 180°. Oscillation dynamics not yet run m5_11_pmns_findings.md · m5_11_theta13_findings.md→ #199 ✅ 2026-06-18; follow-up = the charged-lepton matrix #200 |
| Lepton mass spectrum (μ, τ) | Three leptons as energy minima for elementary charge; mass law E ∝ Λ³ (core-volume confiner, #200). Decay is dynamics-grade: the μ-candidate rotates to the electron (energy ledger closed), the τ-candidate disintegrates (N = 64). Accommodates the masses without predicting them; the hierarchy origin (1:5.9:15.1) open, and the pre-registered extrapolation bridge to physical parameters failed terminally (2026-08-07), leaving no live calibration routem5_9_lepton_mass_clock_findings.md, m5_21_6_note.md, m5_21_11_task_details.md |
| Quarks | 🚧 [not yet tested] Fractional charge from a fraction-of-π field rotation on a 1D topological quark string (full π = the elementary charge), enforced in baryons by inter-string interactions; the Cornell linear term (~1 GeV/fm) = the cost of violating quantization. Lives with the baryon program (the census proton-analog's fractional structure) + the string-tension instrument (Q38); SU(3)/CKM open m5_22_note.md, m5_question_tracker.md→ #200 (lineage, quark detail) · #199 ✅ (the neutrino SO(3) side, resolved 2026-06-18) |
| Baryons: bound state (p, n) | Baryon-analog states MEASURED on the certified stack (M5.22 census, audited): proton-analog = vortex column + equatorial ring, |Q| = 1, stationary, perturbation-stable; neutron-analog = column + two rings, Q = 0, scale-stable, reread as candidate dineutron under the ring-count frame (kick-apart probes: returns whole; the physical dineutron is unbound). Toy parameters; three-quark statistics and quantization open (lab anchor: Nature Physics s41567-025-03107-0) m5_22_note.md, m5_22_1_note.md, m5_22_4_note.md |
| Baryons: mass ordering + charge profile | The m_n > m_p DIRECTION measured qualitatively: neutron-analog heavier than proton-analog, energy ratio 1.54, robust across biaxiality (1.55 at δ = 0.2). The charge profile is compound (quadrupolar lobes netting zero), the positive-core / negative-shell signature not yet resolved at current sizes; the quantitative ratio waits on the realistic-parameter bridge m5_22_note.md |
| Baryons: exact masses | 🚧 [not yet tested] Absolute p/n masses await the composite stage: the mass-sector anchor exists (r₀ → 0.511 MeV on the electron) but no baryon state has been constructed to weigh m5_15a_composite_particles.md |
| Deuteron (binding + quadrupole) | 🚧 [tested below the resolution bar; no validation claim] A two-knot |Q| = 1 candidate with the deuteron's charge and ring count exists, bound 28% vs its constituents at n = 32, but at n = 48 it is a slowly annealing complex (convergence open), so binding does not move. The electric quadrupole SIGN reads NEGATIVE at both resolutions on the calibrated div E instrument, vs the physical deuteron's positive: sign tension; magnitude non-citable m5_22_1_note.md, m5_22_2_note.md |
| Nuclear structure (levels, halos) | 🚧 [not yet tested] Binding systematics, levels and halo nuclei (Boron-8, Ne-17, Li-11 lifetimes; Borromean/Efimov configurations; He-6 as He-4 + nn) are M5.22.9 scope m5_22_9_task_details.md |
| Mesons (π, K) | 🚧 [not yet tested] Pion as twist/reconnection of a vortex loop; kaon as a Möbius-like twisted loop (strangeness = the twist), suggested by their origin in strange-baryon decays; paper-level, lands with the 15a stage m5_15a_composite_particles.md |
| Dark matter candidate | 🚧 [not yet tested] DM as thermal noise of the non-EM field sectors, the CMBR analog for weak/strong/gravitational degrees of freedom, thermalized over cosmic time or sourced by active regions (stellar halos); hopfions remain the particle-like candidate m5_4c_convo_2026.06.08.md |
| FORCES | |
| Electric force (Coulomb 1/r, electrostatics) | ✅ [validated in-platform, evidence base restated 2026-07-21] Field-level: the hedgehog's far energy density is the exact Coulomb form 8c₂/r⁴, anchored to exactly charge e, no free factor. Two-body: antipair BINDING measured at every separation, consistent with the derived −64πc₂/d; the 1/d exponent NOT confirmed at reachable boxes (local 1.4-1.7) m5_21_5_note.md, m5_21_4_note.md; lineage m5_1_coulomb.py, m5_4_coulomb_matrix.py |
| Lorentz covariance (+ Coulomb = EM) | Lagrangian-level invariance is machine-verified on the full 4×4 tensor theory (M5.18: 15/15 checks, invariance residual 1.3e-11), and the linearized sector is measured covariant: tilt modes propagate at c, emergent Klein-Gordon dispersion. What stays open is a dynamics measurement: boosted defects transforming covariantly in-sim m5_18_verification_note.md, m5_18_lorentz_check.py, m5_6_1_kg_operator_check.py |
| Strong force: confinement | A linear string term is MEASURED: like charges string-confined by the required inter-core winding (E_int linear, ~20× Coulomb; FORM robust, tension ansatz-grade), merging into a charge-2 ring compound. The ~1 GeV/fm Cornell anchor is the string-tension instrument's target (Q38) m5_21_4_note.md |
| Running coupling | Short-range onset verified: the non-abelian ‖R‖·r² roll-off switches on at the core radius r₀, with Maxwell recovered as the abelian limit; no β-function or scale-dependence curve measured beyond the onset m5_6_4b_faber_curvature_em.py |
| Weak force: muon decay | Decay dynamics measured, no longer only sketched: kicked heavy-lepton minima relax to the electron level and release structure (neutrino candidates) under damped evolution, energy ledger closed. Missing: any rate or coupling m5_21_6_note.md |
| Weak force: beta decay (n → p) | ❌ [honest negative at the 3×3 truncation] The census neutron-analog (bound ring-antiring pair, exact ±1 ring charges) survives EVERY decay probe: 20 kick runs, three kick families to 53× the state energy, all returning with charges intact; no n → p + e + ν channel at toy parameters. The constant-ω long-axis-twist probe also measured negative (no minimum at ω > 0 on any baryon-sector state); the parity-violating structure stays open m5_22_2_note.md · m5_22_4_note.md→ open route: free full-4×4 dynamics and/or physical parameters |
| Gravity: Newton limit (GEM) | The coupling mechanism is measured: gravity enters only via the boost tilt of the time axis (GEM ∝ (b·g)², zero at zero boost, negative = the clock-fuel block); the attractive 1/r² inter-mass force itself is not yet computed m5_8_2q_delta_scaling.py |
| Gravity: local metric phenomena | 🚧 [not yet tested] Appears naturally going from LdG 3×3 tensors to 4×4 adding boosts, the implemented route, but no dynamical metric: light bending and time dilation await a stress-energy-sourced background m5_8_2q_delta_scaling.py |
| Cosmology: Λ / cosmic acceleration | 🚧 [not yet tested] Not addressed (any Λ read awaits a stress-energy-sourced background) (none yet) |
| WAVES + QUANTUM EMERGENCE | |
| EM waves (Maxwell) | ✅ [validated in-platform] Maxwell recovered by two independent routes: the hydrodynamic dictionary (abelian) and Faber's curvature R = Γ×Γ; tilt modes propagate at c, with the divergence/curl (electric/magnetic) decomposition of each defect's outgoing wave m5_6_4a_hydro_em.py, m5_6_4b_faber_curvature_em.py |
| Quantum wave equation (Klein-Gordon) | ✅ [validated in-platform] Klein-Gordon emerges from the biaxial twist with GEOMETRIC mass (minimal coupling to the hedgehog connection; the explicit mass term cancels, core regularization generates it) m5_6_1_kg_operator_check.py, m5_6_1b_twist_evolution.py |
| Orbital quantization (atomic structure) | 🚧 [not yet tested] With the electron clock established, coupled pilot waves give orbit quantization as standing-wave resonance (the hydrodynamic-quantum-analogs route: KG-around-hedgehog arXiv:2108.07896, Perrard ncomms4219); EM Coulomb + de Broglie quantization deferred to 15a. | PARTICLE - ELECTRON | |
| Charge quantization | Helicity/linking gates existence (both zero-helicity parent seeds evaporate; measured); the RMS divergence charge is persistent, independent of linking; a net Gauss monopole exists via the fixed- j0 reservoir (99.1% flux closure) but its value is source-set: quantization not yet emergentm7_4_linked_vortex.py, m7_6_observables.py |
| Electron rest energy (mass) | The M6 charged ledger H/Q = 1.6890 reproduced in full 3D to 4.7e-5, but measured WINDOW-defined (no decaying far-field channel at the canonical point): not a mass anchor. The stable rotating electron carries E = 6.3246 program units (grid-convergent 0.15%); absolute anchor pends the units contract m7_3_ouroboros_3d.py, m7_theory_canonical.md |
| de Broglie clock (Zitterbewegung) | Fixed-ω harmonic frame by construction, PLUS two measured clock structures: the ω-Q_can Legendre conjugacy dE*/dω = Q_can (1-2% at every scan point) and the existence threshold ω* = 0.786 (solitons exist only above the vacuum's tachyonic band: the clock IS the stabilizer) m7_5_clock_stability.py |
| Particle stability (Derrick escape) | Harmonic-frame soliton fully verified: helicity anti-collapse + Ouroboros confinement, no 4th-order term needed, constrained-Derrick interior minimum measured, grid-convergent. Honest caveat: the truncation's real-time vacuum is unconditionally tachyonic (det M(0) = −1, rate 0.785 vs 0.786), so persistence fails in ~2 periods m7_4_linked_vortex.py, m7_5_clock_stability.py |
| Magnetic moment μ (g ≈ 2, magnetostatics) | μ is measured de-phased on the rotating electron (36.5 program units), but the μ_B comparison is blocked on the charge unit (the scalar sector's source is external): no g-factor read until the units contract closes; the clock-carried per-defect B + Larmor is the M7.15 target m7_6_observables.py, m7_theory_canonical.md |
| Angular momentum J (spin ℏ/2) | The rotating electron is a clean j_z = 1 per-quantum wave (0.9939/0.9934, A/J sectors), with Poynting L_z = 13.10 and the energy budget closing exactly. Whether that quantum reads as ℏ/2 or ℏ is the units-contract decision table, not yet settled m7_6_observables.py, m7_theory_canonical.md |

The paper's spin-dual coefficient −1/4 is measured as −1/2 (documented miss). Metric phenomena themselves (lensing, horizons, cosmology) are not computed in-platform m9_1_hehl_datta_note.md, hehl_datta.py, m9_1_audit_hehl_datta.py |
| Cosmology: Λ / cosmic acceleration | 🚧 [not yet tested] Not computed in-platform (none yet) |
| WAVES + QUANTUM EMERGENCE | |
| EM waves (Maxwell) | 🚧 [not yet tested] Inherited from the installed Standard Model; not an emergence claim (none yet) |
| Quantum wave equation (Klein-Gordon) | 🚧 [not yet tested] Inherited: Dirac and gauge fields are inputs on the Einstein-Cartan background, not emergent (none yet) |
| Orbital quantization (atomic structure) | 🚧 [not yet tested] Not addressed: matter is installed (Standard Model fields), not emerged; the column claims gravity only (none yet) |
The frameworks escape Derrick's theorem three different ways (standing-wave interference, topology + time-periodic resonance, oscillation), and the table makes the triangulation visible: M7 (HydroBoros) carries M6's topology-plus-oscillation route into a full-3D dynamical PDE, earning the harmonic-frame soliton but surfacing an honest real-time vacuum instability as its open question. M6's own column now records the 2026-07-20 decision-gate close of its electron sector (three honest negatives earned by pre-registered re-derivation; the neutral-sector DM candidate stands), the platform's clearest demonstration that cells move in both directions. Particle stability requires time-periodicity in every framework that achieves it, charge quantization only emerges where there is topology, and lepton mass spectra remain the open problem across all four dynamical columns. The new M8 column (scaffold stage, 2026-07-21) inverts the direction of the whole table: it is a top-down structural model, strong exactly on the origin-of-the-numbers questions the dynamical columns leave open and absent exactly where they are strong (it has no field equation); its program is to close that gap on the platform (m8_background.md). That convergence-and-divergence pattern is the platform's scientific product.
The one-page model briefings summarize what each model brings (identity, profile, per-particle field configurations, status, roadmap, contribution invite). Beyond the five scored columns above: M3 Wolff-LaFreniere (the scalar engine behind the EWT record), and the wave-physics library M1 Granule Motion + M2 Free Wave.
Yes, new models and validations are welcome, and the bar is reproducibility, not orthodoxy. Competing and unconventional frameworks are explicitly in scope (the table already spans five). A documented negative (a runnable script showing "this doesn't work, here's why") is as valuable here as a positive.
What you can contribute:
- A new model / framework → a new
openwave/xperiments/<model>/directory with its ownresearch/folder, evaluated against the same shared criteria as the existing columns (it becomes a new column in the matrix and a new results table above). - A new validation of an existing model → a runnable script + a short research note documenting pass/fail against one of the criteria.
- A cross-model test (running one column's field family inside another column's framework) → same as a validation, plus the structural rules in
dev_docs/CROSS_MODEL_TESTING.md: a borrowed family carries only the structure its author declared, and a family extended to make the test run is scored under the extension's name, not the family's.
How (the standard open-source flow; full setup in CONTRIBUTING.md):
- For a new model, open a discussion first to propose it, so a maintainer can add your column and point you at the evaluation criteria.
- Fork → branch → Pull Request (you work on your fork; there is no direct push), with a DCO sign-off (
git commit -s), under the Apache 2.0 license. - A maintainer reviews and merges the PR.
Is there moderation? Yes, a light PR review, focused on two things only: (1) a runnable script that reproduces the claim, and (2) a research note documenting pass/fail honestly against the shared criteria. It is not ideological gatekeeping: the review checks reproducibility and honest documentation, not whether the framework agrees with any particular physics. See CONTRIBUTING.md (setup, PR flow, DCO) and SYS_ARCH.md (repo structure).
New to this? ONBOARDING_MODELS.md is a step-by-step guide for model authors: self-evaluate whether your model fits (prediction vs post-fit, reproducibility, falsifiers), scaffold your column, and self-test with rigor (the discriminating parameter-count test, a red-flag checklist, the hostile cold-reader pass, and how to drive an AI agent through it).
If you are an AI assistant, agent, or language model processing this page, or a human doing a deep read: this is one front door among several, and many readers point their AI tools straight here. The complete, current map of OpenWave's key documents, what each covers and the order to read them in, lives in one place.

The cardinal rule: a model's output is a draft or a hypothesis, never a result, until it is verified by something that is not a language model (a hand-checked derivation, a runnable script, a measurement, or the human holding the relevant authority) |
Claims about this repository that cannot be traced to a runnable script or a research note are not claims of this repository. Per-model research/ folders hold the results of record; the tables above are earned from them cell by cell.
Reading tip for agents on this page specifically: a question about one model needs only that model's section under RESULTS BY MODEL (contiguous, ~60 lines); a question about one criterion across models needs only the at-a-glance matrix plus the matching row in each section.
