If you're using the phonetrack app (I recommend downloading the repo and building it yourself), there is an SMS option in the settings that allows your phone to respond to a direct SMS query with your long and lat. You can configure the keyword so it doesn't go off randomly and share that with your contacts as you need to. If Phonetrack is on and tracking you it will respond in SMS with useful information. If not it responds with a "not tracking" message. I have it configured and my family has my keyword. I quite like the feature. |

Hi
Thanks for this app and your hard work.
I'd appreciate some guidance for this use case.
I use phonetrack for a year now, as a Timeline equivalent. So it's a private session, tracking my device all the time.
Now the use case is, I'd like to be able to share, temporarily, my real time location (not necessarily the track, just where I am right now) with whether an existing NC user, or a guest with no account on my server.
I don't understand how to achieve this. I don't want to share my "always on" session, and I don't want to share a real time track, but instead just a location. And be able to switch that on and off for when I need it.
How do you guys achieve this?
Thanks in advance
