Our music player app uses Android's media library API to talk to music-player apps like VLC, and select a track/playlist. This is compatible with most Android music-player apps, but not with Spotify; Spotify has its own, different API. The practical upshot is that once you have started playing in Spotify and selected a playlist, Faceclaw's music app can play/pause and advance forwards within that playlist, but it can't select a playlist and start a playback session if there isn't one already started.
