In the current setup, the R1 ring is paired with the G2 glasses (beforehand, by the official app), and we handle ring-gestures on the phone by having the glasses forward them to us. That works, and it allows the ring and the glasses-touchpads to use the same code path, but it would reduce input latency if we unpaired the ring from the glasses and received gestures via a phone-to-ring bluetooth link instead.
