Can someone explain drama around odfpy

Why pypi authors and github author are different? Is this project maintained? Is original maintainer is still developing this project? Can you trust repo on pypi? If this project is abandoned what are the alternatives.

The library is a simple API for the OpenDocument DOM, and there isn't much to work on. I, the original author, is not using odfpy any longer, so while there is a need to update to ODF v1.3, I don't have that need myself and keep postponing it. In practice, this project is in hiatus.

In the 16 years, this project has existed, I haven't seen any alternative libraries appear.
