Handoff Notes - Dec 31, 2024

What We Did Today

Reviewed and improved the testing strategy:

  1. Deleted fuzz targets - They required nightly Rust so nobody was running them. Proptests do the same job and run on stable with every cargo test.

  2. Beefed up proptests - Added transitivity test (the important one that was missing!), plus semantic tests that verify version incrementing works correctly. The tests now actually catch real bugs, not just "doesn't crash."

  3. Cleaned up clippy - All warnings fixed. Added #[must_use] where appropriate, collapsed a nested if.

State of the Codebase

  • ✅ cargo test passes (52 tests)
  • ✅ cargo clippy clean
  • ✅ cargo build works
  • ✅ All pushed to origin/main

What's Next (from bd list)

All open issues are P2 features for new package sources:

  • composer (PHP)
  • maven (Java)
  • docker (container tags)
  • nuget (.NET)
  • swift
  • conda
