Hi, Sorry for the previous message, I'll keep it short. My issue: after some hours/days of normal use, the live preview turns pink and pixelated, and the LEDs reproduce these same broken colors. Happens with NV12, P010 and YUYV — not tied to a specific LUT, since even the official community LUT for my grabber (UGREEN 25173 P010) eventually breaks the same way after running a while. Only re-applying/installing a LUT from the web interface fixes it. A full Pi reboot, unplugging the USB cable, or toggling tone mapping on/off does not fix it. Since the LUT content itself doesn't seem to matter, I think it's the video pipeline degrading over time rather than the LUT file. I'll grab the log right before the next occurrence and post it here. |

The LUT in the download section is only for P010 - not for any other codec. P010 requires a dedicated LUT and won't work correctly for any other codec if you downloaded or calibrated it on your own in P010 mode. Since the LUT after calibration is not overridden over time and does not change (memory corruption is rather unlikely since you reboot the Pi), it must be something on the grabber side. |

Hi again, Quick update on my side. With the community P010 LUT, the live preview colors don't match what my TV actually shows — noticeably off, and whites/highlights look blown out, too bright compared to the real image. Since a LUT is tied to the exact source/chain it was calibrated on, that's probably expected given my setup is different (Onkyo AVR + Ezcoo splitter in between). So I tried calibrating my own LUT. HDR calibration went fine and looks correct. But SDR calibration keeps failing with "the error is too high." Looking at the captured colors before calibration, green comes back perfect ([0,255,0] → [0,255,0]), but red and blue are off in a very consistent way, same numbers every time I retry: Red: [255,0,0] → [255,56,0] I've ruled out tone mapping settings, leftover LUT files, and SDR/HDR auto-conversion on the source side — TV info panel confirms genuine SDR input. The pattern is exactly reproducible, so it feels like something in the SDR capture path rather than random noise, but I don't have more than that. Given the LUT is codec-specific, I'll probably move away from P010 and try YUYV instead, but wanted to leave this here in case the red/blue offset during SDR calibration means something to you. The UGREEN 25173 is a widely used and well-reviewed grabber; there's no broader pattern of users reporting a pink/corrupted image from the hardware itself. The fact that:
...points to something in HyperHDR's video pipeline (V4L2 grabber state, internal buffer/cache handling, or LUT application logic) accumulating a bad state over time, which only a full pipeline restart clears — and only the LUT-apply action in the UI currently triggers that full restart reliably in our testing.
Possible related internal mechanism
The logs show an internal "Video cache" counter that increments over the session (
Video cache: size: X, hits: Y, needed: Z, cleanup: C, limit: 8). We haven't yet confirmed a direct link, but this is a plausible area to investigate for a state that could degrade/overflow over long-running sessions.Steps to reproduce
