+ +## Transcript + + +Joe Deng: Now I got to add sig community starting up. Please join to learn about everything we are doing in the Aash community. So I will put that under here. + + +### 00:05:00 + +Joe Deng: I'll put also general chat. I guess it's not in general chat for a reason, So, I'll do it that I'll do insiders, too. I mean,… + +Rodri R: which I don't know + +Rodri R: what happened to all the insiders. + +Joe Deng: I feel like All right, let's see over there. And then let me do Telegram as well. Let's see. Somebody's coming. + +Joe Deng: So, this is Fennel's here. hey Fennel. How's it going? Let me see. I gonna go announce it under This Telegram. Here we go. big community starting up. Let's join again. At least you're eating. I'm happy to hear that. Let's Put that over here. Right. Perfect. So, we might give just two more minutes for now that we did our announcements. Just see if anyone wants to come in. I know that. Let's see. Let's invite Sam deep. + +Joe Deng: There's some more people. Stand deep. Okay. Perfect. Yeah. It looks like that was the answer. Rodri, we have to advertise it people. + +Rodri R: Yeah, seems sometimes the calendar doesn't go + +Joe Deng: Hey Sandep. Perfect. And then So, while we give just a few more minutes, this is going to be one long recording. Tyler's gonna be like, "What's going on?" all right. Let's see. Maybe I can Okay, so I'm trying to be a little bit more professional. Let's see if this will work. no. It does. Okay, cool. can I share it? That would be neat. + +Joe Deng: window. Yes. All right, that works. + +Rodri R: And now it looks perfect. + +Joe Deng: And then I have a video and a website to show off. So, this will be fun. just two more minutes and then we'll start. How's everyone doing? Hey, Phoebe, how's it going? we are working. Rodri did get a chance to double check your guide. So, we are going to be hopefully buttoning that up for publishing soon and that'll be good. And what do I do I have anything to share with Fennel, we're still working on how to include you into Akash agents. We are just running through some issues right now with some grading updating of the agents that are on Akash agents. + +Joe Deng: So we are trying to figure that problem out before we get more help. So it's just a little bit of a blocker there. And I think Sandep is working hard. So there's that. And Roger is working hard as All one more minute. Yes, We already went to the moon and came back. That's how that worked. All right. I think that's enough time to wait so we can get started. so it has already been recording for George, but just in case, let's start it up officially right now. So, welcome everybody to SIG community. my name is Joe, the community manager. + +Joe Deng: I also go by Kalem, which you'll see in a few video presentations. So, today we're going to go through what has been new and what's been happening in the community since the last time we met, which is every month. So, here we go. With that said, let's get started. No. Okay, here we go. So, the first thing I want to talk about is The thing about events is that it hasn't been happening. and a big part of that is really just from last month I was talking about scaling back on it. There was a lot of event fatigue that I went through. Having to try to produce an event every month every week really took a lot away from what I can do with contributors and what I can do to augment the capabilities of the community. + + +### 00:10:00 + +Joe Deng: And so I really had to take a step back because on top of the fact that it took a lot of time away there was a lack of participation because we are now currently in a bare market. And so sometimes during these time periods there's There's not a lot of activity or enthusiasm from the greater community. special thanks to all the insiders that are always showing up and whatnot. So I don't mean to discount you whatsoever. I'm just talking about the bigger community, and so I think that the time would be better spent doing other things to try to grow that community instead. but I did not want to shove it away forever and never do events ever again. And so this is what I've come up with on what we can do going forward and starting in the month of May, there's going to be a Twitter spaces that the team will curate. + +Joe Deng: So, we'll find special guests. that would be appropriate, And I do know what the next guest is going to be, but I don't want to ruin it for you guys. So, hang tight for that announcement. And so, I'm hoping that everybody from Akash Club, everybody from the community will go and support these spaces as we try to ramp them up again. In the past, we did have monthly spaces as a core team, but we have since dropped that. And so, the growth team is really trying to come and bring that back out. And so I hope that we will get your support on that. The next thing I want to do is a community learning event that will run once a month. And so this in the way for me for May, I'm planning on effectively for making guides or for making content like video content things like that. + +Joe Deng: So yes, I'm hope will be helpful to people that are here. especially if you guys are interested in contributing, I'm really hoping that this AI augmented workflow will be helpful to help you produce better guides, and produce better videos, whatever it is that you're working on. I myself use AI to augment my capabilities, and I know Michelle, who is the content manager, also uses AI to augment her ability. none of us copy and paste the result and then just deliver that. And so we really wanted to take a dive into possibly what we do with the AI output so that we can get it ready for production. And so we want to share those workflows, those tips and tricks with you. And so that's going to be the next community learning event sometime in May. And then the next last part is a community meetup event. + +Joe Deng: I personally really want community meetup events because I want to, get to know you guys. I want to invite the greater community to come in and get to know us as an insider community, so, at the reason why there's a question mark there is it just depends if you guys would be interested in it, Predominantly in the past when I hosted Meetup events, they weren't the most attended. I think people were more interested to learn what's up in Akash than they were to do a more softer event about intra community event. I don't want to give up on it. So, I'm probably going to continue to try to do it. I just am basically doing a vocal call for help that if you guys want to have these type of events, if you find it useful, please support it. And then if for whatever reason you don't find it useful, please also let me know, right? + +Joe Deng: So because at the end of the day, you want your community manager to be working hard at the community wherever you guys are. So if you guys aren't at a point where you want to meet up and whatnot, then we don't have to run those events. but for me personally, I think that there's a lot of value add to get to know each other and learn about what everyone is up to. and it is my hope that contributors such as Sandeep or all of you guys actually on the call mostly if you guys want to share what you guys are working on to encourage more contributions I think that would be the ideal situation for us to see in such a community meetup event. All right any questions you can always raise your hands and let me know. I know it's a small group today. + +Joe Deng: So, moving on to the actual contributions that we've done. So, the first thing I want to talk about is that we have a new contribution website. on the website now, and I forgot to bring this up ahead of time, but it's never too late. we actually have a community page that we normally do, but we also have a community contributions page. Let me see if I can share that. Present something else. And community contributions. So, here is the community contribution page. So, currently it's full of a lot of articles that are from who do they call the student ambassadors because we've been able to upload a lot of that to start with. So, if you go here to our brand new contribution page, you will see a lot of the student contributions. + + +### 00:15:00 + +Joe Deng: I am also going to add excuse me our earlier contributions because we've written a lot of guides ourself in this community and those guides are not yet pushed to this website at the beginning at where it is now but that's definitely going to be part of my to-do to have all that and we're going to continue to add to this and so I on screen is basically the articles that we have I encourage you guys to take a look it goes from news articles to guides to other articles I guess that's not newsbased but we'll work on all these things, right? So, where I go back to my slides here. So, in the future, I want to have guide contributions. So, this month, Rodri finished a SDL explainer that I'm going to put up. + +Joe Deng: Then we have Pyber and Ben is working on how to containerize Akash, how to containerize your app for Akash. That's also going to go up there as well as a new openclaw skill guide that Phoebe did that we will be putting up there as well. So the whole point is that I don't want these guides that you guys work on to be one and done, I want to have a place, and right now it's called the new contribution website, but in the future I hope it will graduate to an Akash edu of sorts. I know you guys remember that name. And so to just be a place where people can go and do things on Akash, Whatever that thing may be, which we can cater to a lot of people, but we want to have that repository so that people can see all the things that they can do and the guides in the future, I hope will not only have the written component, but also have a video component to it, right? + +Joe Deng: And so me and a few community members are working on how to use AI to produce these videos that can go with it combined with actual walkthrough of real content of real footage of us doing the thing that we're trying to teach. and hopefully that can augment of these guides to be more helpful. And then second two guide contributions is going to be community application documentation which are going to be on there as well. So most notably we have Akash agents which is the agent platform that Sandeep is working on and that platform is growing in the amount of agent platforms that we want to put on there and it's also growing in terms of the feature sets on perhaps how to back things up and things like that and it will continue to grow as we unlock more things on the Akash roadmap such as VMs and whatnot. + +Joe Deng: So all those things will have big effects and we wanted to have a place where people can get help where they can find guides. it's kind of like the open claw skill guide would probably be under Akash agents in the future. But the idea here is to have how-to guides and get started guides for Akash agents on this contribution site as well. And last time I talked about Akashcribe which is dictation app that the community is working on. Rodri is the head on that and we have since changed the name. We're going to call it Akash Echo because it seems to be more favorable to everybody on the marketing side. so Akash Echo is going to release somewhat soon. + +Joe Deng: The application is pretty much all done. So if anybody in the community wants to have a head start on it, you can let me know and raise your hand and we'll probably make that happen. But the idea is going to be a dictation app where you can hit a hotkey and once you hit a hotkey you can talk and once you're done talking you can hit the hotkey again and we will be sending that snippet of your speech to one of our hosted models. + +Joe Deng: probably a open source whisper model of some sort and then that will do its magic and give you back the text that you spoke out and the idea here is to be able to talk faster than you type right so I talk way faster than I type and so I have been using a variant of this application for a long time so I'm very excited to bring a community version of this using entirely hosted on Akash for inference it's going to be a local app, so you're going to have to download it as a Windows app or a Linux app. We're really hoping to get the Mac OS app ready before launch, but that's going to be down the pipeline. And so that is going all the help documentation will also be on this new contribution website. And then next slide is going to be contributions for deployments. + + +### 00:20:00 + +Joe Deng: So that was just the website guide. So these are things that are being worked on now that are actually deployed. I talked about the insanely fast whisper. this will be a model SDL that you can host yourself that you can deploy for us. This is what's probably going to run our Akash echo dictation app which is also on the bottom here. We have a Hermes template that Sandep wrote out that we're going to push to production soon. So hopefully you'll be able to launch your own Hermes without the Akash agents as so the choice is Many ways to do it. And then the last thing that we really want to report is the Akash support bot which Sandeep also worked on. And so this support bot is now being tested currently in our discord server and it's mainly the Vanguards are the ones that have access at the moment. + +Joe Deng: But the idea is that in the future once we gone through testing adding a few things to supplement his knowledge, I'm really hoping that we can release that to the wild. And this will be a very cool app because it would help us with all of the onboarding and all of the newbie questions that someone who is new to Akash might come onto our discord and ask. And so that's going to start there. it's going to support different what am I thinking about hackathons that we have so we have a few hackathons that are happening all the time and so hoping to use that bot to support those applications as well and so that's just the beginning it's completely hosted on Akash and powered by Akash so very very much homegrown and in the future we are going to do variants of it we're going to continue to add functionality to it and then we're also going to be able to put + +Joe Deng: in other places like the website or maybe a telegram. So those are kind of I guess that contribution or that vein of development is going to go towards and so that's the support bot. So I can't wait to put that out in the wild and have everyone else mess with it and test it and try to break it. I can see a point where I would allow insiders in to go and try to chat with the bot and test it. but we are still working on how we're going to do that how do we add more knowledge in and what knowledge to add in and trying to get it all ready so that people don't go aha I got you yeah so those are the things that are done from the community side and now the next slide is going to talk about contributions from the Akash University student ambassadorship program which actually is a whole set of contributions that are landing onto + +Joe Deng: to Akash that is outside of our Akash club umbrella but they are still part of our community. So I really really want to show off some of their contributions because some of them are really really attractive and really really exciting So the first one is auto research on Akash and you guys hopefully have heard the famous auto research his name but Kaparski someone can help me with that. let me admit hold on one second. George. Is he Did that work? Yeah, that worked. Hey, Hopefully George is in. I don't know. I approved him, but okay, Back to what I was saying. + +Joe Deng: So he released this thing where you can set your agent on to auto research things and kind of take the best results of it and continue to do that work and that model is now not model but that is now on Akash and I think there's two variants of it but I only listed one but you can find that by just going to console and typing auto research and you can have your own implementation of that. I think that some of these did not get enough marketing or enough wow but they do exist. So I encourage you guys if you are interested you saw it online or whatnot and you want to check it out. I think that there's a lot of people using the auto research agent to do things. So it's now available on Akash thanks to the university ambassadors. So kudos to them. + +Joe Deng: The next thing is Akash model trainer. So this one is using openclaw to assist in model training basically to implement that on a sh. And so that is also another cool thing. If you guys are into training models I would really encourage you to check this out. And I'm going to run through the top end of it and I can't really dive too deep into each one. but that was also really exciting. The next one I'll dive into a little bit deeper. It's called Handflow AI Tracker. And so this was actually a hackathon that the Akash University ambassadors went to and It was hackathon at Yale and they won first place. So really really proud of our ambassadors and I'm actually going to show you a quick demo of what this hand flow is. So that basically I want to encourage people to see what they can build on Akash and see what's possible. + + +### 00:25:00 + +Joe Deng: I think that's really what a lot of these hackathons kind of give us is the ability to see, wow, I didn't know that that was possible, but it is something that is. So, let me go ahead and share this one minute video. So, it's not going to take too long and we can find out what Handflow is about. And the guys that built this Handflow AI tracker is also the same one that built the Akash model trainer. So, really doing quite a lot actually. So, all right. People seeing the video. Roger, help me out. You guys hear audio? Nowadays, we live in a world where productivity matters. But up to $300 for a macro pad Stream Deck, + +Joe Deng: + +Joe Deng: audio? Good. isn't the price just insane? + +Joe Deng: + +Rodri R: I do. + +Joe Deng: Because we built Handflow for $5. Handflow can turns any glasses into smart glasses. It has four main features. One, turn any non-touch display into a touch Handflow tracks the screen and your fingers so you can tap, swipe, and navigate directly. Two, control your computer with just a touch. You can raise your hand to bring up a macro pad, tap your knuckles to use them as buttons, or fold a paper template into a physical 24 button macro pad. Just a touch to activate. All these buttons are fully Three, use seven customizable free space gestures like flick to run the script. + +Joe Deng: Finally, take live capture instantly, then save and share them with Gemini for help. With all these features, your productivity will be boosted by at least 40%. So, what are you waiting for? Use Handflow for a better workflow. All right. And just to prove that a cautious is part of There it is. So, I'm super excited about the work that these ambassadors are doing and I just wanted to showcase a few of it so that you guys can kind of see why we invest our time with these student ambassadors. And yeah, so there's that. Let me go back to my presentation. So, I know I was amazed by that. I don't know if you guys felt the same way. but yeah, there's that. And then the last thing is a gradio on a mal. + +Joe Deng: + +Joe Deng: I'm not going to try to be a pro on that, but Gradio is basically a machine learning tool that you can let's see it's like a Python package that allows you to build a demo or a web app for your machine learning model right again not super technical myself but I'm hoping that that will be very useful to others so the person who did this contribution is actually doing quite a lot of work on Akash and I will be going to Stonybrook University where they're located I think in a week and a half. And so I will be meeting up with them and I'm going to be finding more details about how this is helping him and in the work that he's doing. And so if anyone's excited enough to check out all the contributions that the ambassadors have done, I've left a QR code there if you want to scan that or there's a link. It's just bit.Ambassador contributions. + +Joe Deng: And so I'm going to share that website cuz I'm actually think it's really cool that they listed everything here. And if you're ever wondering what they're actually doing, if I can let find that link. So here is the ambassador program contributions. So you can see they have total 23 contributions. So these guys, this is the second cohort. So we had a first cohort not too long ago and this is the second cohort and we're now recruiting for a third cohort. So this program is going to be here to stay. It's under the community and it's something that we are very happy and very very proud to bring to market and so you'll see Akash trainer here one message training agent on Akash GPUs the first place so some of our ambassadors won first place at UPAN blockchain and first place at the Yale blockchain. very very excited about that and you can see the articles that they post. + +Joe Deng: So, some of these are going to repeat on our contribution page as well, but there's a lot that are not on there and whatnot. here's the one on gradio, right, to talk about what the contribution is about. And each person will be giving credit Here's Ensar from Stonybrook where I'm going to be so looking forward to meeting him. bit tensor minor setup so there's a lot more that I haven't put into this slides that I have but the idea is that these guys are doing the work basically okay and so if you're ever interested in it you can check it out so auto research at home is made by someone from Cornell University and so you can just type in I guess it kind of so once I click that in go straight to the github so this is already on awesome macage so you can kind of see that you can + + +### 00:30:00 + +Joe Deng: use these things right away. Okay, so I hope some of you would be interested in checking these out, but the big takeaway is that, the Akash youth university ambassadors are doing great work and they're contributing heavily to our ecosystem. let me go back. there's a lot of switching back and forth, And then the last thing is a slide that I've had last month as well. And I'm probably going to leave this slide on every time just like the question slide that's going to come after that. but really the current bounty program that we have really is self-sufficient. So if you have an idea that you want to bring to life, if you want to contribute, come with, I think there's a lot of ideas out there. I was talking about a plugin that can read what's on the screen. + +Joe Deng: I was talking about different ways that we can have perhaps a app builder on Akash. So there's a lot of different ideas and sometimes those ideas might seem bigger than one person and I would love that as well. if anybody has an idea they want to lead the team or they want to create a team of contributors and kind of bring that idea to life I would very much appreciate the suggestions because right now it's not so much execution because we have AI to assist us with a lot of that now a lot of it is just the ideas on what is it that people use right and one of the big reasons why I wanted to do the dictation app you is because I use dictation apps myself and I see how using a dictation app has changed my + +Joe Deng: life for the better. and I use it on the daily. So, it kind of makes sense for me to want to bring that to life under the Akash community programs so that we have an Akash homegrown version of it and I can stop paying for whatever I'm using right now. but the idea that is where I can find a big use case for it. But I'm not everybody, If you guys have an idea, if you guys can see this will be great, and it'll run on Akash GPUs or run on a Kos I would very much encourage you to step up, let me know and we can start to build that idea together. And so that's basically how the bounty program is working right now. It doesn't only have to be building apps. You can have new guide ideas. + +Joe Deng: For example, I had Tulu who suggested since he was working with agent zero and he built out a whole 16 agents to assist him on the daily and he basically wanted to showcase how this has changed his life and so he's working on an article based on how he was able to go to that pen blockchain event that these guys were at and then basically talked about how the agents helped him with the networking and with the planning of where to go and what to say at each of booth that he was going to be at. And so it's ideas like this that are good ideas that I can't single-handedly be like, " do that." + +Joe Deng: And so currently I have given up on the idea of a bounty board where I define the bounties that I want and instead adopt this program where people who using Akash or people are passionate about using the technology that Akash can then come forth with their ideas and then we can bring that to life and hopefully by showing a Kos agent those were Akash agent for example was an idea that both Feno and Sandep we had and we were able to bring that to life. So I hope that this is proof points that we can really take that idea and run with it. And so if you have any ideas that you want to, come under our community umbrella and execute, please, by all means, I hope that you do. so That's going to be the same pitch every month for that. And last but not least is going to be the question slide. Like I said, these two slides are going to repeat. + +Joe Deng: So, at this point, I'm going to open the floor if anybody has any questions about anything I talked about before. What if you're interested in joining the student ambassador program or you have a new idea, very much open to it. but I'll give a few minutes for that. and if nobody has any questions, then I'll gladly give you your time back and I'll see you next month. So, yeah. Anybody have any questions or comments? Yes. So, there is a community contribution site. That is what I was talking about. Let me get you the link. It's already official on the Akash network page and it's under the community tab, but here it is. + + +### 00:35:00 + +Joe Deng: So obviously I'm new so in terms of using GitHub and whatnot. So Roger helped me push my first article. I don't know what happened Something happened and then it's not on there. So we're going to have to push it again. But that's The point is anybody can push, not just And so if you write an article and that you finished and you're proud of, I want you to be able to contribute that as but going forward any guide that we basically produce together will be put on to this site so that we can start to culminate a knowledge base for future agents and for future new newcomers to the community and to Akash in general how to use it right so that would be the idea so hopefully one day it'll be a resource that we can share if someone has a question you can be like we have an article here so that would be the idea + +Joe Deng: Any other questions? just going to go for a minute because you guys here obviously I know everybody on the call and you guys know that I'm always available and so if there are no more questions then I'm just going to give you your guys time back and thank you guys for coming and listening to everything that's new for what's happening on the community. So no more questions once going twice. All right, then. I guess we're gonna stop the recording and we're going to call it a day. I'm going to stick around for a few more minutes if anybody wants to chat about anything. Otherwise, I will see you on the Discord. + + +### Meeting ended after 00:36:58 👋 +
