Pterodactyl is a community project. All contributions to both Panel and Wings are welcome, whether it's new features or bug fixes.
This is an in-depth project making use of many moving pieces. While we strive to keep everything as secure as possible
and welcome you to take a look at the code provided in this project yourself. We do ask that you be considerate of
others who are using the software and not publicly disclose security issues. Please see SECURITY.md
for information on how to report security issues to the team.
You can find us in a couple places online. First and foremost, we're active right here on GitHub. If you encounter a bug or other problems, open an issue on here for us to take a look at it. Please make use of our GitHub Discussions for any feature requests, general questions, or help with the software.
You can also find us on Discord.
AI and LLMs are awesome, they can truly 10x your productivity, help explore a large codebase, help with large changes, and write lots of test coverage. That said, they do not replace your responsibility for the result and output of an LLM tool.
- Please keep the conversation in your own voice. Review, rewrite generated code comments, issue reports, and pull requests descriptions so they reflect the intent of what you mean.
- Keep ownership of the of all decisions made, you have to understand every change, and you must verify the behavior with appropriate test coverage at the bare minimum, your code should reflect the style of the codebase.
- Do not copy paste LLM output verbatim into the codebase and expect a contribution, you will treat generated output as a draft, and you, the human, are expected to check it's claims, adapt it to the repository, and remove anything that you yourself cannot justify. Issues that are entirely unreviewed LLM output will be closed without review.
- AI-assisted contributions follow the same standards for quality, correctness, testing, etc as any other contribution.
