Navbar :active items do not have the same color as when they are currently selected

The navbar item on the left has black text while the one on the right has grey text. The one on the left is what the user sees when he clicks on the navbar item while the one on the right is what the user sees after the item has been selected (i.e. the current page's navbar item)

This color difference results in a brief "flash" in the text color.
